In one word what’s happened: lots!
The first six months of 2026 have been a busy and exciting time at Infoware Services, with significant developments across our applications and services — including the rapidly evolving world of AI.
AI continues to develop at an extraordinary pace, and we are actively looking at how these technologies can deliver practical benefits for Infoware users.
As a result, our AI Blog has been rewritten, expanded and refined several times delaying this publication — yes, with the help of AI!
AI is now part of business
AI is not a single technology or application. It is becoming part of many different aspects of business software and business processes.
Our AI Blog looks at the different forms of AI and, importantly, how they relate to Infoware — including AI we use internally and new ways AI can extend the capabilities of Infoware applications.
Static AI — automation that delivers practical results
AI-driven automation is not new to Infoware.
In fact, we have been using Static AI since 2018 to translate PDF documents and use the information extracted from them to create customer orders and supplier invoices.
We continue to build on this capability.
One development is the automatic creation of supplier invoices as unapproved invoices. Timing is everything and, in this case, having the supplier invoice online before goods arrive allow changes to the workflow. Infoware checks the invoice against PO prices and received quantities.
Where everything matches, the invoice is approved automatically.
Where something doesn’t match — such as a different quantity or unit price — the invoice is quarantined for review.
The result is a removal in manual data entry of supplier invoices , plus the vast majority of supplier invoices able to be automatically approved with zero human touches, while exceptions are quarantined for human attention.

Generative AI — creating new possibilities
Generative AI is the area of AI that has attracted the most public attention.
Tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and many other AI agents can generate new content, including meeting and email summaries, charts, programming and much more.
These systems work by generating statistically likely outputs based on their training data and the context they are given. They are not simply traditional knowledge databases.
This creates an important opportunity for businesses: AI can take on more of the initial creation and analysis, allowing people to concentrate on reviewing, refining and making business decisions.
The AI Blog discusses our use of Otter AI, for example, to turn teams’ conversations into organised, searchable and shareable notes using speech recognition and natural language processing (in a minute). Speakers and action items can also be identified automatically.
Agentic AI — moving from answers to action
Agentic AI takes this further.
Instead of simply providing an answer, an AI agent can carry out structured workflows, trigger actions, monitor conditions and respond when circumstances change.
For business, this opens exciting possibilities for automating processes that previously required people to continually monitor systems and initiate individual actions.
The AI Blog includes a case study of Ezfurn, which is now using Claude AI to analyse Infoware data.
Importantly, the benefits of AI are not restricted to customers running the latest Infoware applications.
Businesses using Infoware’s legacy applications can also use AI tools such as Claude to analyse and monitor their Infoware data, providing new possibilities without necessarily upgrading existing systems.
Why is the AI Blog so long?
AI is evolving quickly and is now relevant to many different areas of business (& society).
It isn’t just one technology, which is why the AI Blog is longer than our usual articles. It covers static AI, generative AI and agentic AI, together with practical examples of how these technologies can be used alongside Infoware.
Our focus is not AI for AI’s sake.
It is about finding practical ways technology can reduce manual work, improve information flow and help businesses make better use of the data already within their systems.
AI isn’t the only thing happening
There have also been many other Infoware core application updates and improvements during the first six months of 2026 ~ initially some we did not even think possible or add the efficiency they have!

There is a lot happening at Infoware Services, and we look forward to continuing to find new ways to help your business work smarter, automate more and get greater value from your Infoware investment.
